Yeah, it’s about time I take on an MMORPG. Since I have only been playing Eve for about a week and X3 a little longer I think it would be fair to pit them against each other for a first time look at each although I have already done a review on X3. Making fun of these two games is going to be fun since I think I will get a lot of hate from Eve community for this
Background:
I love games, that is why I am writing these but, I hate all the crappy “bought” reviews. They don’t really tell you anything you already don’t already know. And usually give a 3 to 5 star rating on games that are really 1 to 3. So I will tell you like I see it and if I am wrong call me out on it. The people need the TRUTH! I played Freelancer back in the day. It was client based with the opportunity to make it MMORPG to your friends if you had any knowledge of how to get the game server up and running. It was easy, fun, and very addictive as far as space games go. It was the beginning for my love of space games and wanting more. I don’t really know if it had a story line but the time I was able to spend on game with my friends, learning how to get a hold of the best weapons and better trade routes made the game fun. Unfortunately they did not do everything they could in Freelancer so others are going to try. Enter Eve, and much later X3. On to pissing people off Read the rest of this entry »
Before I go on to complete this review I must set the stage for all cut scenes. first off you will like what you see but, what you see will completely be irrelevant since your feelings will scream at your subconscious to HURRY THE F*** UP THROUGH THE STUPIDITY!!! Does anyone remember the feeling they get when they say something incredibly stupid or see something as stupid? capture that feeling and replay it every time you see a cut scene and you will be set to read the rest of this.
It has been almost 3 months since I put down the game and wrote the review so I was pretty close when I said I had 1 more chain to cut. I actually had 2, and about 4 hours of gameplay to finish it up. I was busy in one section of the game where I could have taken the entire team and finished the game instead of trying to boost everyones level. I think when I finished the game Capell was level 72. most people finish it around level 50. Read the rest of this entry »
I know that some of you guys that have been here a while are really hoping that I would come out with the final for Last Remnant but every time I think of playing that game I think that sticking my dick in a live electrical socket would be more fun. And really the 360 is not that great of machine that I must play all my games on so I have been taking a break from it for a while.
Lately I have been playing a first person shooter online with my friends and that got me thinking about my old days at counterstrike where I use to be pretty good so I decided to go out and get a few games that might help my thirst for pixel blood. I ended up getting a few things at best buy: a gaming mouse, the Orange box (I thought CS was in there), and X3. I saw one of my bosses go out and get this when it first came out and I thought it would be great to get since it looked like an updated Freelancer (if you haven’t played that game btw, go pick it up. It is a great space game with the ability to play with your friends). Little did I know that this game was written by retards, no seriously retards. I think they could have paid me to at least crap out better code for game play. I will get that to a second.
I’m sure that you guys are tired of me bitching about terrible games so I thought I would give you a break. This also gets me away from playing the terrible games with some awesome Marvel characters that most us nerds have grown up with. The Marvel games have come a long way since the original x-men (1989) game on the NES (yes, I have played that too). Its view is still top down but, game play, story line, and graphics have come a long way.
This is a party game for sure. It’s good that you can play this online as well. The only problem is that if you really want to have fun with the game you do want to try and unlock as many characters as possible although you do start off with a bunch of characters that you would almost always never say no to. But, they do give you enough characters from marvel to choose from so you can customize your own team. On to the game!
When you start the game you go right to a cut scene just like any other game that wants to get you hooked. Thor, Spiderman, Wolverine, and Captain America show up and CA starts issuing orders. Wolverine tells him to stuff it and starts owning his attackers in his own psychotic way. Thor spends too much time talking for my taste but easily owns whatever he touches. Spiderman keeps his smart-alec comments going the entire time with awesome acrobatics. CA keeps his wits about him while he is outnumbered but, turns the tide quickly with his skills. The cut scene ends with wolverine laughing while he flies his hi-jacked craft into another bunch of enemies. While they all consider him psycho, Wolverine thinks they are all being pansies. Yeah give me you’re healing factor and indestructible bone structure and I’ll start doing the same. Show off! Read the rest of this entry »
I totally blame myself for picking up this game. The name itself should have told me that there is no imagination to this game so much so that they can’t even think up a decent name. So to pay homage to the unimaginative name I will be making fun of it throughout the whole review. Now this game is a love child between Microsoft and Square/Enix but, due to the crap the Square/Enix have been putting out I’m going to give full credit for this infinite colorful piece of crap to them. Really if its not Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, I have not seen a good game from Square/Enix lately. The last 3 Final Fantasy’s have SUCKED (FF11 does not count) and I do not have high hopes for 13.
The graphics are decent just like any RPG should have. In fact they are outstanding. The cut scenes are great and judging from the first cut scene this game should be awesome! 3 people take on one guy and it seems like a pretty even fight. That’s about all you will enjoy out of the game since the story/characters/gameplay suck. What an infinite cock tease. Read the rest of this entry »
To start off I am not a huge Star Wars fan as far as games go. There are very few of them out there that can catch my eye but, the ones that do are usually good game play and a good story line (Bounty Hunter (GC) and The Clone Wars (XBox). The good news is that this game is nothing different to report on game play or story line although some things are predictable.
Probably the best part of this game is when it takes place. The rebellion has not started but, the empire is slowly spreading their iron grip across the universe. Darth Vader is going around wiping out any and all Jedi that he knows of. . .and he starts at the Wookiee home world of Kashyyk. Now for those that have not played the game I will be telling all so if you just want my rankings just go to the end. Of course after you whip though the army of Wookies that throw themselves at you (don’t forget to kill 200 of them for your achievement) you arrive at an unknown Jedi’s hut and commence beating him down. Vader senses that he is not the Jedi he seeks and wants to know where his master is. Of course the Jedi tries to protect the identity of this unknown Jedi and then dies. Vader then gets surprised by none other than a kid about 2 years old. The troopers come in to dispense of this kid and Vader saves him! Ok ruthless, heartless Vader: are you going soft on me? This was the first year in 4 that I was able to actually use my Christmas bonuses on me so I thought what better way to do this than to treat myself to a new system (Xbox 360) and a few games.
Now, I am the kind of guy that collects games so I play, beat, then put away to play another day so I usually have a game in mind that I want. This time I did not. I went to find some RPG’s to get ideas for things I like and don’t like in a game. When picking out the games (oblivion, Marvel Alliance, and Last Remnant) I almost did not get this game. I had another game I was looking at but, after taking a closer look at the game it looked more like a Pokémon RPG than a decent game so I took this one.
At first glance at the back of this cover you could easily mistake this for a street fighter type game. There is a huge bar at the top of the screen that looks like health and a character that is fighting another character. After closer inspection and a tip from the clerk I was eager to try this game. I don’t know how far I am in the game; I just know that I am not yet to disk 2. So this review is based off of what I have gone through so far. Read the rest of this entry »
