Not keeping us up to date (currently at part 14)

I finally got around to watching this latest episode. Outside of some rough cuts, it's still one of the best amateur (and I'm using 'amateur' in a very praising "holy crap, this is good" kind of way) web documentary I've seen in a damn long time. However, I do wish that you addressed The Sword and The Stone a bit more, even though I agree that it's a very mediocre movie for Disney Classic standards.

Where do you get the footage of these interviews? Are they right off of, say, the Jungle Book DVD, or do you actually piece them together from various unrelated sources?

Make that 15 bro- major apologies for not updating when they happened. My minds been on this art course for a while now (intensive 2 week training, meeting new people, being in elephant and castle where I'm more likely to get mugged and nearly have. It's been tense :V) and as a result I haven't made ends meet everywhere. I'll try harder now things are flowing a bit smoother.

Yeah, my sister tells me the same thing XD. She sometimes comes down from upstairs and asks me about certain cuts. When i'm making it it gets pretty intense, and I tend to end up trying to focus more on the info...and unfortunately I keep letting little things that make it better slip by. Hopefully i'll upgrade my movie maker so I can sharpen down those seconds (imovie isn't great with precise edits) and then I'll be able to cut things down to the bone.

Sword in the Stone is an interesting one...there's literally nothing interesting to find on it. Nothing. I could probably have mentioned that it inspired John Lasseter when he was a kiddie, but that wasn't nearly as powerful as when he saw Tron seeing as he was actually at the studio then, so I left it out. There's no reason why I couldn't adress it in a future off-shoot vid though...

Sort of a bit of both. What happens is I do the linear research first and write everything down. For that it's mostly wikipedia, some books I have and some timelines online. Then I switch it up a few notches and do in depth research on each movie or person and pinpoint aspects. If I haven't watched the movie then I'll sit down and watch the whole thing, thankfully I've seen most of them which makes a the job easier. Then I watch all the making of's I can find, on my own DVDs or online. I'll download whatever I can and cut the nessecary/interesting bits into the documentary. The last thing to do is to fill in the gaps- for that I check out movie trailers, newsreels, documentarys like 'Waking sleeping beauty, the hand behind the mouse, and secret lives: Walt Disney' and see if they fit into the right places. Sometimes I've missed like a disney channel promo or something that talks to the animators and looks at the behind the scenes stuff when the movie is actually being made (which is much, much more preferable.) And even then, sometimes, I've missed something completely and have to go back and add something in.

In other words, I piece it together from everything I can find on youtube. Everything! :V

EDIT: LOLOLOLOL completely forgot the link to part 15. Here it is bro's and mo's!

I loved Basil The Great Mouse Detective. I remember the gears of Big Ben being well animated but I never dreamed that a movie so old had scenes created by computers? :o

Dude, seriously! I watched that movie on repeat as a little kid so I'm actually surprised as all hell to learn a few new things about that!

Which is why B-Mask's Epic Mickey history of Disney is so fun to watch.

I appreciate the acknowledgements =3

Also, I'm actually going to see Basil on the big screen next week. It's a six thirty showing so I'm seriously hoping there'll be some more adults around. It's not pleasant to sit in a theatre with a bunch of kids, not only because of how annoying it might be, but also because you don't want to unnerve parents with a pedophile air. Believe me, Britain is so pedophile sensitive now, you can't give a friendly smile to a kid who sees you without being accused. I remember on Grumpy old men, Arthur said it happened to him on a train when he tried to make a little boy laugh by pulling faces back at him, and how being accused had made him feel pretty villified.

The answer is of course to end up going with my sister, which is fine. I just really want to see it on the big screen with an audience to see how they react.

I hate when that happens. A little kid was saying hi to everyone who walked by in the store where I work and I said hi back and the shit hit the fan with the mother. She complained to my super about me just saying hi to her kid but really more about what I said to the mom. Something about me being sorry for not acting like a total stuck up cunt by acknowledging that someone said hi to me. Apparently she took it personally. So she took it right.

I'm not seeing a link to the episode.

Also, did you ever decide on a series title so we can start posting these on CCS?
