Apparently there are not only reviewers, critics, and amateur film/documentary makers on CCS, but also creative writers.

From what I've gathered there are a creative handful of us who write stories, so I'm considering opening up an EXCLUSIVE new forum thread where we can share our work for shits and giggles, or for actual critiques if the member so chooses.

Due to the off chance of ideas being pilfered, the new creative writing forum -like the Contributor's Corner section- won't be open to the general public but to contributing members only, and for non-contributors to gain entry they'd need the writer's express permission to be allowed in.

So, any opinions or ideas?

I could go for reading some short stories. Since I'm just a casual commenter, would I need to sign a non disclosure or something to get in? Can I get in if I contribute a short story of my own?

That's up to the other writers.

Contributor. You're a frequent visitor, you helped pimp out CCS to the masses in its infancy, and you're involved in DVR4. Congrats.

I say, that's not a bad idea, not bad at all! Now, usually this is the point where I'd start giving empty promises to contribute when, in reality, I already have enough projects and real life bollocks sitting on my shoulders, but if I ever decide to finish (that's one of my biggest problems: I can always come up with an interesting premise, but I can never tell how the story ends) one of my bazzilion started short stories — you fellas will be the first ones to read.

In the mean time, however, I wouldn't mind reading other people's work like, say, *STAR*'s aforementioned vampire story. That said, I believe now is the best time to announce this: Don't be afraid of criticism. If we (or, as I predict, I) will end up nitpicking your work to death, that's only 'cos a) we love you, and b) we want to see you improve!

Now then, come to papa!

Well, I have a number of television spec scripts that I'm always looking for improvement on getting them polished up and I know you guys don't hold up when it comes to room for improvement and constructive criticism (which is exactly what I'm looking for). CineMax has already helped with one, but I don't mind the rest of you taking a look at them.

Precisely my own problem. I shit you not when I say that I have a 500+ page UNFINISHED story I'd be willing to share to get feedback, and while I have SOME idea where I want to go to wrap up the story, input would be welcomed. Hopefully you'd be willing to share your work with the rest of us as well, possibly to get into the writing spirit AND also possibly find the right ending. :D

Agreed. Hopefully the stories won't be so terrible as to warrant a complete rewrite, but I'd be willing to drop a suggestion or two... or three... or probably more than you'd want.

I'm game. It would be fun to turn CCS into an expansive hub for creative minds. Possibly even post full stories whenever they are finished?? Who knows where this new avenue could take us (or if we'd even want to pursue it beyond casual critiques and input).

Now, how would we protect our works? Does anybody have a need for non-disclosures from other members, or is just keeping the forum private enough?

I think keeping the forum private would be the right idea.

It'd keep out prying eyes and also trolls like Fishboy, allowing only people who can offer constructive insight like the majority of our present contributors. I think it would work.
