This may be old news but I just heard that Taco Bell is being sued?! Something about the "beef" used isnt qualified as beef according to some FDA rules or something. Here is a link to one of the articles talking about it.

http://consumerist.com/2011/01/lawsuit-says-taco-bell-ground-beef-is-really-just-taco-meat-filling.html

I just feel kinda confused. I mean I guess I can understand wanting to know what you're eating but sometimes isnt it better to just be happy with what you are eating and enjoying the taste but not necessarily knowing what it is? Like if you were eating octopus balls but didnt know and just loved it or enjoyed it enough would you really wanna know that they are octopus balls or no?

I mean its not like its not beef at all!! I enjoy Taco Bell!! I think the food tastes fine and is cheap for a quick lunch too. I dont know, just wanted to put it out and see what you guys have to say about it.

Yeah, but what if you were eating infected rat meat instead, and it would provide a potential health risk?

Sorry, but when I order a taco at Taco Bell, and they ask "Beef or Chicken?", I'd better be getting BEEF or CHICKEN.

The lawsuit isnt over having rats in the meat but taco bell is doing what mcdonalds once did and also got sued for. They are using oat and wheat products to cut the meat and save money. it isn't dangerous to eat but it is false advertising.

I cannot eat gluten, a wheat byproduct, so even if I were to eat a plate of the meat I could have an allergic reaction, and Taco Bell Corporate Headquarters would have a visit from my lawyer because I assumed that the meat that they advertised as beef would not contain wheat.

lol oh no, I used the rat meat as an allegory for the lack of beef not being okay with the public :P. Sorry for the ambiguity!

What i like about this lawsuit is the person/group isnt suing for money but rather the fact that TB is false advertising, I think that alone makes this kick ass!

I think they have every right, consumers drive the economy, and god damn the cooperations better realize not everyone out there is a mindless drone that will believe anything they are fed on tv and advertizing.
