@Ken: Someone's been watching a lot of Red Letter Media of late, haven't they?
But you're right, you know. People give George way too much credit than he deserves. If you want to know more about just how little he actually contributed to the legacy of both
Star Wars or
Indiana Jones, just watch these two videos:
Look, it's true. George was the initial spark that gave birth to the original
Star Wars. However, just like Ken's said, if it weren't for more talented—not to mention mentally sound—people who refined most of his initially retarded ideas, the films that we now know and love would've been totally different. For example, did you know that originally Luke Skywalker was supposed to be a sixty-five year old wise sage-like character (a-la Obi-Wan) with a cybernetic head? Or how about Han Solo being a half human/half reptilian like alien? Oh, and, of course, my absolute favorite. The thankfully unreleased Indiana Jones sequel where Indy would run around with a small, wacky alien sidekick (think Short Round meets Jar Jar).
So yeah, where's you genius? Where's your legend? He's just a one-time wonder, a fraud who got lucky and made friends with the right people (Kershner, Spielberg), whom, sadly, everyone seems to forget when giving the "great" George a verbal blowjob.
