I grew up with the vision and scarlet Witch being major members of the avengers for years...and nowadays barely anyone would associate them with being just avengers.
I'm with LM on this one too- I thought the cartoon was an okay way of introducing the show to kids (unlike BTAS it never shuts the hell up) but the opening is just really bland.

I is Sad Panda, I really like that opening song I thought it was catchy ^_^
Like, for real? I mean, c'mon. The theme from the 90's Spider-Man cartoon (arranged by Joe Perry of Aerosmith fame) was catchy. The X-Men theme was catchy. The creepy psychedelic rock tune from Batman Beyond was catchy. This, on the other hand? No, no, no...
Like LaughingMan said, it's your usual soft-rock 'We're gonna save the world together' crap that's, like, the opening to every second cartoon these days...

I say to each their own. I like a lot of music that I could get publicly ostracized for enjoying so there is no *wrong* music just different tastes and opinions.

My favorite themes are the theme for the Batman and X-Men series. It's like the best introduction videos don't need lyrics because they sell themselves with the music arrangement and the visuals alone instead of drilling the theme of the show in your head. It's like GI Joe saying, 'real American heroes' over and over. Yeah we get the point you don't need to talk down to us like that. Or the music can get really bad.
When you have music explaining everything in a minute its really crappy. What if the X-Men theme was saying "Wolverine has metal claws and his bones are really hard. Gambit is a cool dude who will deal an exploding card. Cyclops is the leader and shoots lasers from his eyes. And Rogue is a flirt but can't touch any of the other guys."

Exactly! The point of an intro is to give a viewer a clear idea of what the series is about, its setting, mood, atmosphere, whatnot — not to buy the editors some time to write down the names of all the directors/produces on the screen...

Ahem...
Then again, at least this one was kind of catchy...
