So, like last year, I compiled a top ten list of the best films I saw in 2010:

10. Inception
9. Kick-Ass
8. Let Me In
7. How to Train Your Dragon
6. True Grit
5. Tangled
4. Black Swan
3. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
2. The Social Network
1. Toy Story 3

So, what's your top ten?

I don't even think I saw 10 movies in 2010, let alone 10 movies made in 2010. LOL.

Eff this, we will never agree on this type of thing. you tried last year to say that funny people was actually good and forgot good movies that were made. this year you left out the A team which was by far the best movie of the year not to mention that you put a sequel as good as it was above an more original computer animated. Some of this I can not argue on since I have not seen them (True grit, Tangled, Inception) an some movies should not have been forgotten as in Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia, and Iron Man 2

@zimes
Wow, zimes! A little bit harsh? Estefan just shared his new episode and asked for our opinion :?
Though I would have to agree with LaughingMan (I myself have yet to see some of 2010's best movies like Tron: Legacy, True Grit and some others, so I doubt I could come up with an adequate Top 10) and you on the part that usually these "What are your top 10 movies/games/comics/whatnot of some year" kind of topics end up as a bloody mess.
For instance, right now I can't help but wonder how the hell can Inception be at the bottom of the list, while some average or even mediocre at best movies like "Hot to Train Your Dragon" or "Kick-Ass" (I must confess I was somewhat disappointed by the movie. The premise of comic-book geek fulfilling his wish of becoming a superhero in a world where, much like here, they are all fictional, only to learn it's actually more brutal than he had ever though, DID seem interesting at first, but I found the execution to be rather... weak. Maybe it was a part of the idea, but - unlike the original comic book where it all looked natural and seemed like it can happen even in the real world - the story, the costumes, the fight scenes - all of that looked rather...cheap) get all the good spot in the middle or even the top 5, kind of seems... odd :?
Edit: Just read the last year's topic. You're right - it's best we don't start this kind of stuff, 'cos we'll probably be at each other's throats after the 3rd or 4th post. We all have different tastes in movies and while that helps in keeping the reviews varied and unique, but I honestly don't want to see the folks here smothering each other over the fact that some asshole had the nerve to say how UN-epic Kick-Ass was (*Chuckles*)

nah, its not of a F**k you, you suck; but more of the hands up in the air "I'm effing giving up". Its very hard for me to consider a movie bad and I usually come to the defense of movies that people consider crappy: the TF2 rant is popular but this year its people ragging on the Prince of Persia movie. usually the very first criticism of the movie is that there is no such thing as a "white Persian" my existence begs to differ.

Although I agree with how to train your dragon was mediocre out of the cartoons I saw this year (didnt see dispicible me, Mega Mind, or Tangled . . . yet), out of the ones I did see it still told the story better.

yeah, if you are going to put in a sequel movie, make sure its better than an original movie

Yeah, I re-read the 2009 'best of' and it's best we just don't go there... Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and if we were ALL a bit more civil about what we thought were good movies, then I'd encourage this kind of thread, but everyone gets butthurt and flamewars start, so until we can have an intelligent debate over our 'best of's, we'd better just move on.

Oh, I see. My apologies for the misunderstanding :)

Once again, I'm glad we're not starting the argument, 'cos I see that when it comes to mediocre or crappy movies, you're much tolerable (for better or worse). As for the POP example - I myself, find such accusations to be immature and illiterate.

Sadly, I doubt that's gonna happen, 'cos (1) we are all critics here (that already means we're snide and cantankerous as hell), and (2) this is the Internet: even if me, you, zimes, estefan and several others manage to have a civil and polite debate, and discuss all of our opinions and differences, there's always a chance someone's gonna bust in and start arguing with everyone under the pretense of the anonymousness.

I am more tolerable cause I keep in mind that the main purpose for the movie is for me to be entertained. I am also easily entertained :P

not to say I dont notice the plot holes, bad jokes, or other things but rather pull out the good of the movie to shine more than the bad.

although if the movie is bad enough, I will just plain get up and turn it off.
