So are there any movies that you are looking forward to this year? what are they and why do you want to go see them? Here are my picks:
Source Code: an interesting Sci Fi / mystery that will look like it has a lot of action behind it with a good story line. Bad Teacher: a good date night movie really. The plot looks see through at best but there is bound to be some good comedy in it When Harry tries to Marry: another date night movie that is dangerously close to a chick flick than anything. Due to the heavy indie theme in the movie though it would be something my wife and I would really enjoy. Kung fu Panda 2: A kid movie sequel that I think will be funny and full of action. probably the only sequel worth going to this year. Cat Run: Different type of action flick with some dumb humor to go with. this might go really well or it might bomb. Legend of the Fist: action flick. . . what else do you need? X-men first class: a prequel to the first three x men movie so the best thing about it that Hallie Berry wont be in it to f**k it up. There be Dragons: a really interesting movie about a priest's past.
other movies worth mentioning that will be entertaining: Thor Fast Five Cars 2 Trasformers 3 Pirates of the Carribean 4 (ok this one will probably be worth seeing too) Sucker Punch Super 8
Movies that are coming out (or already out) that probably wont be worth two shits rubbed together: Hangover Memorial day: really? I couldnt make it past the first half hour of the first shitty installment, no thanks. Hoodwinked too: crappy CGI on the first film with only a moderate story line at best. I do not have high hopes for this one. The only thing about the title are the people who actually PAY to see this are the ones being hoodwinked. Bonnie and Clyde vs Dracula: this one might surprise me but the name of the movie is so horrid that this might be bad enough to be good. Puss in boots: A break off character from Shrek. once again, not holding my breath on this being any good but all the trailer tells me is it is going to be about Puss. Take me Home tonight: seriously, the main character (Topher Grace) cant play anything else than this whiney kid that was funny in "That 70's Show" but after seeing him play the same part over and over and over (like will feral and ben stiller) I get tired of it. Big Momma: Like father like son: Uggh. Its Martin Lawrence again with out anyone funny to help compensate. Battle for LA: ugh, another alien invasion. probably more action and better story line than District 9 but not going waste my time on it.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides SHOULD be a really great movie akin to the original "Curse of the Black Pearl" movie. It's obviously based on the book "On Stranger Tides" by Tim Powers, which in turn was the basis of the Secret of Monkey Island games and (loosely) the other Pirates of the Caribbean movies. If you saw similarities between Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and The Secret of Monkey Island, it's because of "On Stranger Tides".

I may not be able to get out of seeing "Battle for LA" because my roommate loves this kind of abysmal trash and my girlfriend wants to see it too, so I'll let you guys know. If it's good OR bad enough, I might write a review...

This is going to sound like the most retarded thing that ever came out of my mouth but Transformers 3 might hold up. Think about it for a second. Bay got his ass handed to him for 2 so he probably won't repeat the same mistakes.

I am really not holding my breath for this to be good. it will probably be along the same lines as 1 or 2 but for me I still have to watch it on the big screen.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - Huge fan of the comic books and Steven Spielberg is the perfect choice to direct this. If you've never read them, they're like Indiana Jones with a reporter instead of an archaeologist. So, yeah, perfect for Spielberg. Peter Jackson producing, Edgar Wright co-writing, WETA doing the special effects and Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost being in it only makes me more excited. Super 8 - J.J. Abrams directing a very Spielbergian-type science-fiction movie, produced by Spielberg. War Horse - Spielberg directing a World War I movie, nuff said (can you tell I'm a big Spielberg fan? ). Winnie the Pooh - Disney has been on a roll lately and this looks like it will return that silly old bear to his roots. Hugo Cabret - Martin Scorsese doing a 3-D movie? Color me interested. Mission: Impossible IV - I don't care for the previous entries, but Brad Bird is directing this. The Muppets - Who doesn't like the Muppets, plus Jason Segal is a good writer. Rio - Could be this year's How to Train Your Dragon Scream 4 - I like the first three and with a decade since the last one, there's a lot of new horror conventions they can take on. Captain America - I'm interested in the two other Marvel adaptations as well, but this one especially piques my interest. Cars 2 - Pixar. That's why. And if Cars is their worst movie, they're doing pretty well.

SHOULD is the key word, BUT this is a chance to make an independant episode without the hangups of Davvy Jones, and all the other crap that made PotC 3 a piece of crap. estefan wrote: The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn - Huge fan of the comic books and Steven Spielberg is the perfect choice to direct this. What is with the Hale Berry hatred? She is a prima donna but I thought that she made a decent Storm in the first two Xmens. I want to back Xmen but you know that its going to suck unless it has Wolverine.
