when you nit-pick that is when you end up like Ebert. The whole time while I was watching TF2 all I could hear was people bitch about parts of the movie and me thinking one of two things:

A) pay the F*** attention and you know what is going on
B) Yeah that is right, this part is stupid but, did it have a big effect on how I enjoyed the movie? Answer for most of them was no.

True M Gaye (Baye) f**ked up the movie to the point where he should not be directing any more TF movies but, the movie was still enjoyable.

that may be that TF should not be a big money but, it was. your hating on the movie because of that?

Nit-picking is when someone takes a few very minute pieces of something and criticizes it unjustifiably.

Example: Nit-picking is when I say Spiderman 3 sucks because of the infamous 'Flag scene' people seem to hate for no good reason.

(of course I dislike Spiderman 3 because it has 100 story plots all going on at once with little time for developing any of them. I wish Sandman was the focus because he had the potential to be a complex villain, and I also wish that Venom would have been saved for a 4th movie to make his character as equally complex)

There is no true 'nit-picking' for movies like Transformers because the things that are being criticized are NOT MINUTE, they are front-and-center and often the focus of the movie. The oddball scenes that people hate are not far-and-far-between, but make up like 1/3 of the movie.

I was thinking about doing that, or at least putting a copy there.

and yet most of the 1/3 of the oddball scenes in the movie that people hate ARE NIT PICKING.

"I cant tell who is fighting who" STFU and go to "A" above
"There is a plot hole here" yes, there is a plot hole but, does it ruin the movie? Go to "B" above
"There is too much teenage drama." yes, need more robot bashing. Go to "B" above.
"Megatron got rezed, how come Prime had to do it differently?" STFU and go to "A" above
"the robots are racist" yes, that part sucked. Probably the ONLY valid bitch of the entire movie.
"Megan Fox just shows off her ass." give me your man card and STFU.

Im sorry, all points that are made of why this movie sucked most of them ARE NIT PICKING. yes the movie could have done better, yes Micheal Gaye sucks, and yes you are nit-picking.

You think plot holes are nit-picking?

did the fact in the movie that they were trying to cover up the TF existence on earth ruin the movie? not that big of plot hole and probably a lot easier to understand that what gaye probably wanted to put in the movie.

No, the government trying to cover up giant monsters destroying cities and killing thousands of people didn't destroy the movie, but it didn't help.

What destroyed the movie were the retarded stock characters and the lame frat-boy humor:

"Dogs humping are funny."
"Parents getting stoned are funny."
"John Turturro's ass is funny."
"Metal dogs humping Megan Fox are hot- ...er, funny."
"Giant metal balls are funny."
"Transformers that sound like illiterate Chris Tuckers on crack are funny."
"Gremlin robots stepping on mouse traps are funny!"

It's like, "KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF! PRETEND THAT I'M NOT 13! EVEN THE 13 YEAR OLDS THINK IT'S STUPID!"


Touche. Bay probably wouldn't even have a plot. It would have been 100s of explosions and people running around making references to his old movies:
Fat kid running down street: "This is 10x cooler than Armageddon!" (TF 1 scene)
