... still, why do I have the feeling Batman 3 will suck? -pirates Transformers 3 and writes a big rant to it-

I think it will be a disappointment because everyone will expect something better than The Dark Knight. It is like setting a long distance record and not being able to beat it again. I still think that the new Batman movie will be good just as long as they do a good story and give Christian Bale a Ricola throat drop.

I just hope they DON'T have the Joker in BM3. First off, if they do, people will hate it because it won't have Heath Ledger, even without seeing it. Secondly, if they do the Joker, it'll be a different performance. Thirdly, it'll water down the Joker from Dark Knght (make it less unique and special).

As for BM3, I'm hoping it's The Riddler. A duel of the detectives would be interesting (see 'Death Note', another anime I actually like because of such a battle of wits).

HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT'S ARMAGEDDON! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes. The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Anyway, I'm thinking it won't match expectations from The Dark Knight ("TEH BEST MOVIE EVARRR", according to some of my friends), and people will see it as "Spiderman 3" or "Superman 3". Remember how good Spiderman 2 was before it was followed up with the godawful sequel? I just hope Nolan does something unexpected and good with 3, or we might have a Batfan riot on our hands.

Don't forget the other infamous 3-disasters:

Pirates of the Caribbean, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The Godfather 3, Star Trek III, Star Trek: Insurrection, Jurassic Park 3, Alien 3, Austin Powers 3, Return of the Jedi (WTF EWOKS?!?!!), The Matrix (even though 2 sucked too), Scary Movie 3 (see previous comment), Die Hard 3, Jaws 3, and Halloween 3.

But some 3rd movies are awesome: Rocky 3, Rambo 3, Indiana Jones Last Cruisade, Star Wars 3 (better than 1 and 2, but still not saying much...), and The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly (Clint Eastwood's "man without a name" spaghetti-western "dollar" trilogy)

But I'm confident that if Nolan and the actors of Batman Begins and Dark Knight return, it'll be a great movie.
