As promised, Zimes and I are taking the remainder of the ad revenue we've made from the clickable ads below the banner of every page and are reinvesting in advertising some of the largest draws to CCS via the google ad system.

Attached are the ads we're using so far. There's different variants of each (vertical, horizontal, different sizes, etc). We're currently experimenting on which sizes of ads are most effective, as well as different styles of ads (the two contrasting GameJams ad styles, one being a slight revision of AWX's simple but effective take on the apple ipod ads, the other something edgier I was dabbling with).

We do want to venture into Facebook ads and we want to advertise more of the features at CCS, but only if the ad revenue allows for it.

PLEASE SUPPORT CCS BY OCCASIONALLY CLICKING ON THE ADS FEATURED IN THE HEADER AND IN THE FORUMS.

Any questions or comments? Suggestions?

I like these! ;) Though, personally, I'd make the "Four friends" blurp in the last one a little bit smaller, just so that the banner doesn't seem so crammed.

Other than that, it's definitely nice to see the site evolve! I mean, even if, generally speaking, I haven't contributed much yet mainly 'cos of my belated accession, and, frankly, seeing how you had to fill in the time slot with The Dirty Do Gooders, I suddenly feel the urge to get off my lazy ass and do some actual work... :?

By the way, since -- for some jarring and bizarre reason -- this was technically the first time I visited this corner of the forum, I decided to give other topics a glance and found this rather interesting and promising idea. So, tell me, did the fliers idea ever see the light of day?

nope. we just dont have enough people to make this jump out. I have a few places where I could post these flyers but I need to have the flyers first.

Where I'm at people probably wouldn't give two shits :P
We'd have more luck with fliers if there was more than 1 or 2 people speckled over different parts of the world. For instance, most of the Dirty DoGooders crew resides in Seattle, WA, so with their combined efforts they can do word-of-mouth marketing more effectively than, say, just me in my town.

But if you have a handful of friends who want to give a shout out, I won't discourage it, but I'd rather focus on the internet and social media because it's a more targeted, higher concentration of 'our kinds of people'.

there is no where to start but small LM. being in different parts of the country is great because it can spread faster and farther than just trying from one spot. flyers wont do much good in coffee shops but would do great in comic book and gaming stores. If one attempt at flyers got 5 people interested in AK, ND, VA, WA, and where ever else we have loyal fans at, thats at least 20 more people that will spread the word to others and series like GJ might have that many more listeners who will then turn and spread it around just like SS did with his gaming buddies.

on the other hand we also have to do our part with keeping new content coming (yeah I know, Im working on it) and hopefully grab new talent as well (working on that too). this pebble we have here on top of CCS mountain still needs some momentum to get the avalanche moving.

Very true.

*Sigh* You know, if the fliers idea got off the ground, I'd really wish to help, but, seeing how in this part of the world even I'm being viewed as a deviant for knowing a thing or two about filmmaking and the entertainment industry in general (let alone for, you know, speaking English ) -- I doubt you'd want such half-witted, illiterate contingent on CCS.

By the by, seeing how you've mentioned that online distribution is our #1 priority right now, I'm just curious: are there any other places besides Twitter, Facebook, and (if you decide to use it, that is) N4G where we can advertise our work?

I really think that "Content is King" and that the more, regular content that we have on CCS (reviews, articles, vids, etc) that A) more people will find us, and B) more people will keep coming back.

I've got an article in the works, Ken has 2 reviews + GameJams, Zimes is working on an entire Mass Effect series of reviews + DVR4 with me. And almost none of it is (to my knowledge) something that's going to be released any time soon. We're really slow right now because of projects, personal lives, etc, and it's reflecting in the Google Analytics readings.

This site could use more news every week. If there was a new thing every day I would be here a lot more often.
