What I would like to see at cheshire cat studios

Instead of being vexed at other webpages the focus should be redirected towards THIS webpage. I propose that we allow members to make suggestions on how to improve US instead of suggestions on how to improve THEM.

I would like more weekly official updates with good videos. I hope to not sound demanding because I don't have a gift of video making or know anyone who may be able to do so but perhaps the noose should be loosened on video restrictions? If you own empty flats and you want them filled then you can't turn away every one at the door hoping to find the ideal tenant or you will never acquire renters. After demand has been properly established is when you can begin turning away the riffraff at the door.

As far as the design of the website is concerned I love the look and the feel but the homepage is very cluttered. Can it be cleaned up?

while I like the idea of people giving us suggestions on how to improve one of those ways would have to be our video restrictions. sure we can post every video submission that comes our way but if its all ass to look at then we are doing no different than other sites that cant seem to get good content either. right now we have to spread the word of CCS and hope that we can get good content from our viewers. tell your friends, neighbors, video store guys, comic book shops, anyone who would get a kick out of this site. we need you all to spread the word and to help us make CCS better and bigger.

how would you like the site to look? I think that we could get rid of the "read our past review" section. thats why we have the main menu for.

The kinds of videos you want need to be more clear. It is hard to tell what you are looking for because you only say what you do not want.

Right now its anything. if its good we will support it and put it up on the rotator. we are shying away from the general "Im a movie/comic/game reviewer" since they are about a dime a dozen and talent is hard to come by. not saying that all shows out there are bad or that we wont take any. this is as specific as I can get:

something original.
something funny.
something entertaining.

not all have to be in one show.

I will also make this a sticky. this subject should never go away nor should our need to improve the site.

Expansion is the best course of action I believe.

The purpose of these are to potentially catch the eye of a reader and make him want to read another (past) review. You don't like seeing your The Last Remnant review crop up on the homepage from time to time?

No, I think it is fine to have it pop up from time to time. I get a kick out of the old reviews but, isnt that what the rotator is for? for it to catch the eye of the other things that we have done around here?

Eh, you might be right, but I just like the homepage to be very "Graphical" rather than just all text. I like to show people everything that's new without having to scroll the window down, AND (if you're logged in) you can see the top 10 most recent forum topics. In addition, there's 6 pics of 6 random reviews that give homepage time to older work, and I really like that part because it's unbiased and very diverse and hopefully snags at least a few pairs of eyes from the people who visit CCS.com for the first time.

Everything underneath I'm 'Meh' on. The popular topics is a nice way to find the Demotivator posts, etc. when they're not on the latest 10 area, and I like having our partner sites listed as gratitude for sharing a link to our website on their own sites.

The NEWS area I don't like that much to be honest. It's an overly large area of regurgitated information that is nothing you won't find on the rotating home image and I wouldn't miss it if we took it out.

I am extremely fond of the new top-banner and navigation system I've put in place. It offers site translations, social bookmarking, and everything in one convenient place.


DECLARATION OF MY FUTURE INTENT

Originally, Cheshire Cat Studios was going to be a site of my own personal work. My videos, some of my scant art and projects, and my own reviews. I'm thilled that this site has grown to include all of you and your own work, and I want to keep expanding on it. I want to see good videos, good reviews (video or written), and maybe I'll completely scrap the PICTURES section because it is out of place, EXCEPT that my GameEx themes are still popular.

I've offered blogs to our more frequent contributors, but apparently I'm the only one who utilizes the technology, so I may remove that feature. It's a shame because blogs create high entry traffic to this site.

The forums are going good, but I may optimize a few elements in the future. I may even begin making the images in the forums MEMBERS ONLY because bandwidth is through the roof and we're becoming increasingly more and more popular, so it's only going to get more expensive.

I think we need a donate button or something. You guys are eating up bandwidth like monsters. I'm not complaining though


So what are your thoughts in the direction of CCS.com?

Seriously what else can be done to this website that hasn't already been done? We just need more videos and maybe swap links with other websites and see where that takes you. We could also use a big viral campaign or something to get more people to join and post their own videos and reviews.
