Hey there, this is the Horror Corner with your host Kenny Farino, and this time we're going to do a quick written review of a comic I'm really getting into nowadays, the third issue of which I'm eagerly awaiting: "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: Nightmare Warriors". This is the sequel to popular comic book series "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash", which was created by Dynamite Entertainment, and was released by Wildstorm Comics. Attachment:

The story was a direct sequel to "Freddy vs. Jason," the long-awaited cross-over event of 2003 (a decade after it went into pre-production, in fact) that would bring the "Nightmare on Elm St." and "Friday the 13th" universes together! This time, "Evil Dead"'s Ashley Williams was forced to fight the two titans of horror that would result in Freddy getting trapped into another dimension, and Jason being trapped on the bottom of Crystal Lake. "Nightmare Warriors" would be a sequel to this wildly successful comic series, picking up right after the first left off. However, since this is a first impressions, I can't really get into too much detail, or give a verdict of any kind. So what do I think so far? -The Good- Well, I can safely say that the artwork is amazing, just as it was in the original series! The characters and settings are rendered wonderfully, and the cover art for the first three issues in particular are the prettiest things I've ever seen on a comic cover in a while! There's plenty going on in the cover art without too much clutter or noise, and you can tell the artists really thought out what they were doing. The characterization is also left intact, but you see some development going on here. Ash is settled down in the beginning, leaving his Deadite-fighting past behind him, and the Survivor Girl (excuse my slasher terminology) from the last series, Carrie, is also with him! Jason has a different look, thanks largely in part to the damage he took on at the end of "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash". He still rips everybody apart! The most surprising characterization development, however, is Freddy. When the government (...for some reason...) is able to bring him back from the Deadite dimension after hatching the brilliant idea of utilizing the Necronomicon to conquer other countries if a war is brought about, the old Fredster is human! He's not his ugly, charred self, he's how he looked in his days as the Springwood Slasher! ... not quite. I don't have much else to really ramble on about here, so what were some bad things that I could find in my first impression of this series? -The Bad- The one thing I could find that was really a complaint so far was the beginning of the first issue after Jason gets loose. Nightmares, domestic life, and tons of things going on at once. For instance, I have no idea where this comes from, but somebody is watching "Army of Darkness" in the theatres. Suddenly, the Deadite General is replaced by Freddy. Then we never see it again. What the hell? Despite a shakily confusing beginning that requires a few reads, I can't really find anything else to complain about so far! Such a handsome fellow! -The Verdict- Well, since only two issues are released so far, I can't say. However, what I can say is that this is looking to be a really awesome comic series that all fans of Freddy, Jason, or Ash should check out!

Now Freddy vs Jason vs Ash is something I need to read. The Freddy vs Jason movie was alright but throw in Bruce Campbell from the Evil Dead series and it will be epic. So they already have two issues out?
Welcome to the forum, hope to see more of your work here!

This looks sweet!
Do you write any other reviews or anything? Have a website?

Welcome to the forums. It looks like we need to create a Comic section to the site. Your Freddy vs Jason vs Ash: Nightmare Warriors first impression is a great start and if you can put up some more pics with a little more detail and depth in the review we can put it up on the main page as a featured review. You also mentioned that Nightmare Warriors is a sequel to a previous FJA comic. If you have a complete review of the original comic, it might be more worthwhile posting it rather than a first impression piece. Just a suggestion. Finally, if you have any YouTube channels, websites, blogs, or whatever you would like a trackback or link to, let us know and we can properly credit and link to your other work

Hey, thanks! Admittedly, this is my first written review that I've done for the Horror Corner since it's meant to be a video review show so I'm glad you guys like it . I'd love to make a review for the original comic series, and update this one with more goodies, so since my video reviews are on http://thatfellowinthecoat.com, I could write articles for this site reviewing horror things. Would that be satisfactory, if your offer still stands? My blog is http://thehorrorcorner.blogspot.com/ , and my blip channel is http://thehorrorcorner.blip.tv!

I'm not sure where to download them, I got them from Velocity Comics. The original series, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, can probably be found if you Google it!

The offer is always open; the more the merrier. We wouldn't have any objections to posting your review videos either, but since you are already on http://thatfellowinthecoat.com and we want to remain on good terms with them written reviews would be great, too. The FJA first impression was a great start and we would love to see full horror reviews if you are ever in the writing mood. I'll have your review up before Monday night.
