I think that's Lovecraft's corpse mourning over the cutification of his most terrifying creation.

Wow such hostility over a joke. But yes, Kenny F, your post did pretty much overview the entire Demonbane series from what I watched on YouTube (the full series is available on YouTube).

I must have missed something with that Cutethulu video. Two girls playing with an octopus plus toy and then a scene of a skeleton hitting its head on its coffin lid?

Muslims get defensive over Muhammad, horror nuts get defensive over Lovecraft.

The Cute-Thulhu video is a joke only really understood by Lovecraft readers.

In Lovecraft's work, Cthulhu is an ancient being that transcends time and space, and is (in human understanding) an evil entity. So basically Cthulhu was created as one of the ultimate evils of the universe.

So now Cthulhu is a plushie beany-baby toy that the little girls are playing tea party with.

The skeleton under the grave infamously marked "I am Providence" is H.P. Lovecraft's, and he is beating his head against the coffin lid because of what has happened to his creation.

... of course, there is debate over whether Lovecraft created Cthulhu, or if Lovecraft introduced Cthulhu onto the printed medium to spread knowledge and belief in Cthulhu so that it could return to Earth and enslave mankind.

... er... just watch John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness" to figure out what I mean.
