New Review Procedures

As of February 2010 the majority of our reviewers have discussed and agreed upon our new method of submitting reviews. Until recently, we allowed members to create a topic in the forum in which to post their review, and the review was (more or less) immediately posted live on the site.

However, because of a few constructive criticisms in our last few reviews we are going to hence forth postpone the posting of new reviews on the site for one week after the review is posted in the forum to allow other members to express concerns or make constructive criticisms and critiques in order to allow the reviewer to refine and/or expand upon his or her reviews to ensure that the final product is as strong as it can possibly be at the time of its posting.

We are hereby encouraging all members to feel free to provide constructive criticisms and suggestions to help refine the works of others.
HOWEVER, here are the ground rules for such criticisms:

- Verdicts and the overall opinions expressed don’t need to be changed just because another member disagrees. If you think something is good or bad, the reviewer doesn’t need to change their opinions just because someone else’s opinion contrasts.

- If you are going to criticize something, at least back it up. If you have any problems with humor or conclusions, please explain and offer suggestions on how to make it better.

- Additionally, if something is exceptionally good, please point that out as well. Addressing the good helps equally as much as addressing out the bad.

- If a review is lacking in either detail or some aspects, feel free to ask for more information.

- Finally, it is up to the review writer to determine whether or not your critiques hold any ground. You can’t force a reviewer to see things your way, you can only make suggestions.
