I added the following to the review

Quote:
THERE IS NOTHING TO RANT ON. PERIOD.

*Glares at Zimes*

For fuck's sakes, I'm going to get my ass handed to me AGAIN by the usual readers because I 'failed to make it teh funny review'. For the love of bitter-sweet fuck, how do you rant and rave on not only a game that doesn't have anything glaringly horrible about it, but also a game that doesn't even take itself seriously in the first place? Me trying to make jokes on a Sam and Max game would be like me going up to the guys who do the stunts on Jack-Ass and saying: "You guys do some retarded shit."

NO-FUCKING-DUH. That's the Goddamned point!

If you make a funny review that disses some aspect of a Sam and Max game, then I think that somehow you missed the point of playing it. The game is fucking hilarious, and (unlike 'serious' games like Heavy Rain and Devil May Cry) there is almost NOTHING remotely horrible to nitpick because everything, even some areas that can be considered sub-par, feel like part of the comedy.

Sure, there are parts of the game that are frustrating enough to make you want to tear your Playstation 3 or PC from the wall and cunt-punt it down a flight of stairs while masturbating, but it's not because the gameplay is broken, it's because I'm too fucking stupid to figure the shit out until after 3 hours of wandering around and clicking on every fucking object in the game.

The point of these Sam and Max reviews is to PROMOTE these under-rated titles because THEY ARE GOOD GAMES and are deserving of praise.

So there, I ranted on something. I hope you're happy.

A rant about not ranting is still a rant m8. I never said that the serious reviews were necessarily bad reviews but they just are not as entertaining to me so sorry.

You can only do a moderate review on episodic content anyway so it was good for what it was.

I have actually just finished playing the first Sam & Max game in this series. It was the one with the big space gorilla trying to steal toys. I actually bought that game because of the laughingman's first review. I have played earlier Sam & Max games and I did not know that there was another Sam & Max game out because I only have a PC and an Xbox and I was expecting to hear any news of a new series on Xbox Live Marketplace. But I bought the package and I liked the game a lot. The laughingman's reviews are not a brainless rant like some of everyone elses' works but it is a solid review even if it is not as creative and hilarious as the Enchanted Arms reviews. But he did write an okay review of the game. I don't want to read his new review because I haven't played episode 2 yet but I will comment on it after I finish it this weekend.

Thanks TygerTyger. I just finished Episode 3 last night and the games just keep getting better and better. Episode 3 really impressed me but I think I can snark the game up a bit since it's fresh in my head. But I won't get to writing ep3 until I get Zimes' Transformers and chuckysin's Airbender reviews up.

It sounds like a fun series of games. So it's a lot like the old Monkey Island games?

I remember playing the first two Monkey Island games. I think that the spastic used ship salesman in the cowboy hat and plaid coat was the most notable character sadly. LOL. If these Same and Max games are anything like the classic Monkey Island games I may have to track them down and play them.

Yes, Sam and Max games are the same point-and-click style adventure/comedy games as the Monkey Island series. But I think that Sam and Max are funnier by far, especially when compared to the newer Monkey Island games.

Funnier than Monkey Island? I will have to check these games out.
