Mortal Kombat 9 2011

I got the scoop on the new Mortal Kombat game coming out in 2011. We've seen the bone breaking trailers with some really gruesome fatalities but here's the story. The last mortal kombat game was Armageddon where all of the characters came together and fought it out as the last big fight. Shao Kahn ends up winning the entire final tournament and right before Raiden dies he sends a vision to the mk2 Raiden warning him of the things that will happen. So Mortal Kombat 2011 takes place in the mk1 2 and 3 universe only and the rest of the events really never happened which is a good thing because everything 4 and up sucked. But Ed Boon said that classic 1 2 and 3 characters will be getting updated with new looks and extreme fatalities.

At least Ed Boon is rectifying all the BULLSHIT he's put Mortal Kombat through since the years without Tobais (basically ever since MK went 3D)

Boon: "Disney and Final Fantasy was a success. Marvel and Capcom was a success. Mortal Kombat and DC comics is the next LOGICAL step!"
DC: "Heroes can't kill."
Boon: "... oh."
DC: "The game has to be rated 'T' so more people can buy it."
Boon: "... oh."
DC: "You need to write a story that will explain how SUPERMAN can be KILLED."
Boon: "... oh."
Critics and MK Fans: "This game BLOWS!"
Boon: "... oh."
Critics and MK Fans: "In fact, everything since Mortal Kombat went 3D BLOWS!"
Boon: "... you didn't like the farting/barfing fat drunk character?"
Critics and MK Fans: "NO!!!"
Boon: "... oh. Time to reboot the franchise!"
Critics and MK fans: "... oh."

if its anything like a DMC reboot just save yourself and give up now.

Actually, the new Mortal Kombat reboot looks pretty badass. It's like Boon and crew got their heads out of their asses and decided to listen to what the fans want.

Stage fatalities can only be executed at the end of the 2nd round damnit!

yeah well "want" and "get" are two very separate things when it comes to making the game suck less. You might "want" to make love but you are going to "get" a brutal ass raping with a barbed 6 foot pole . . . sideways.

thats what the FF series is doing too. going off their past name to try and sell more and more shit covered story lines and characters off their rep. getting a rebooted game to come out that is decent is going to be very hard but, I welcome the challenge and the people that do it.

TF: WfC did an ok job at it. when I first wrote my review I was pleased but the more I looked into it I was disappointed. almost all the story line was based off of micheal gays rendition of TF therefore, all they did was borrow from the 80's G1 TF and slapped a story to it. fortunately it was a decent story and fortunately they brought back decent characters. they could have made it better if they did more homework. I was not well pleased although it still is a good game.

The same can be said about any old school game that has a following. it is going to be very hard for them to geek out the game in order to quell the older fans while still collecting new ones. then once new ones are properly introduced to the older games, they too feel disappointed at what could have been done for the game.

I hope you get what you want but more than likely you will get the "ass raped" version. even if its not as hard core as people are used to.

I gotta say, the new Mortal Kombat is looking hardcore and badass by going back to the roots, but I will judge the game when it comes out, and not be suckered in by what I've seen so far. The last time I got suckered in by screenshots was Mortal Kombat 4, and we all know how that turned out...
