really? REALLY? F***!!! you have shit games that should not even been made (GTA series) over games like Metroid, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy series (although #3 should come before #7 and they did get that right at least), God of War, DMC series, and counterstike/halflife; and some great and early games are forgotten (space invaders, Freelancer, Twisted metal, and Mark of the Kri).

I call on all you gamers to FIX THIS SHIT!!!

What is missing? what would be better? what should not even be on this list of is on it, what rank should it be? I dont care what system it is on, a good game is a good game and needs its proper light. Lets get a top 10 list for our new year coming out. A top 10 that people dont know and should play. and a top 200 game list that is actually good.

now, while I am super pissed at this list here would be my suggestion to the top 10:

1. Final Fantasy 3 (NES)
2. Mega Man 2 (NES)
3. The Legend of Zelda (NES)
4. Contra (NES)
5. Super Smash Brothers (N64)
6. Diablo (PC)
7. Super Bomber Man (SNES)
8. Super Mario Brothers (NES)
9. Max Payne (PC)
10. Halo 3 (360) yes- I know its popular but still great story line and good game play

Yes I know this list is not perfect to everyone but at least it is better than gameformer's top 10 of all time. feel free to suggest your list or better games than what was mentioned. and no Matt, DMC series is not better than MotK. same with GoW.

You do realize that GameInformer is a magazine by GameStop, and the whole purpose is to get people to buy games, right?

GameInformer artificially inflates nearly all the games they review in order to sell their wares.

http://www.destructoid.com/former-gamestop-employee-rants-yahtzee-style-102954.phtml

This guy who made a 9-part GameStop rant had his account suspended from YouTube (probably at GameStop's request) but he was an ex-employee who worked there for 3-5 years and knew the devilish deeds that GameStop was doing. He made one episode about GameInformer and how GameStop tries to sell subscriptions to their own biased magazine.

thats actually how I got my gameformer mag is by Game Stop. I like seeing new stuff come out but, totally ignore their review score. I rarely see any score below a 7 if not 9.

I had considered a subsciption to GameInformer because I had heard that they were the least biased game company around but that doesn't mean that they don't have hack reviewers who give too much praise for the sakes of directly affecting sales.

I like IGN even though they were bought too. Any game magazine that gave Grand Theft Auto IV a perfect 10 is a perfect LIAR.

sorry, that gets the epic fail. Especially when it will list a GTA game over any other game for game of the year.

Hell, I'm usually against PS3 and MGS, but I think MGS4 would be a much more eligable top slot than GTA4 for Game of the Year. Or Left 4 Dead, buuuuut that's just me.

Okay, so it's the only SEMI-ACCURATE way to tell what the good games are. It is still more accurate than reading Game Informer or any other publication alone.

So the consensus about MetaCritic is that ALL gaming magazines can be bought off?
GTAIV is overrated, just like the Halo games. I didn't think GTAIV was horrible, but it wasn't anything new at all. I mean, you can only kill so many hookers in the game before it gets boring.

They needed to add some bums to set on fire, or something...
