Who saw it and what did you think?
I have to say I really enjoyed it. I think minus the simple fun that the first year anniversary vid brought us I think they did much better in this 3rd year anniversary vid compared to last years.
The cinematography was much better. They had fun with special effects and I think everyone just had more fun with this. Plus it was just awesome seeing everyone in the costumes lol

I liked a lot! Ed Glaser and Rob Walker did amazing job on the cinematography. Just like you said , everyone had fun working on this video.

Seriously! It's an amateur, obnoxious, and stupid little Internet series about a bunch of hopeless thirty-something year old social rejects cossplaying as their favorite anime/fantasy characters and trying to find some vaguely described McGuffin. No interesting (or even unique, for that matter) plotline, no likeable or well fleshed-out characters, no effort, no talent (remember how these people consider themselves indisputable film critics?) — no nothing. Why is this worth discussing (let alone watching), again?

I didn't find it to be particularly good. Slow-moving, very few laughs, a whole load of exposition and performances ranging from above-average to poor. The only actor who I thought stole the show was Brad Jones, who also had, far and away, the best and funniest lines. I think he should have been more of a supporting actor, but was largely pushed into the background. Instead, they put a lot of focus on Buck, who is easily the worst actor of the bunch.
That's just my opinion on it, though.

Is the whole thing out? I'm gunna watch it all at once, and see if it's worth reviewing like Kickassia (my prerequisites are that it must be better than its predecessor on several levels).

This movie reminded me of why I liked Kickassia so much in the first place.
Kickassia took a really good concept and utilised the cast that it had- these guys knew what they were doing and there's an awful lot of subtle self jabbing at their own personas. It worked wonderfully and is still a crowning achievement for the team, who as they have admitted are no troupe of actors.
But what really dragged this movie down so far was Dougs group. In the last movie everyone had a specific position, personality, and overall goal. In this movie, especially in Dougs group, they drifted in and out of character and didn't really go anywhere special or meet anyone interesting (apart from Suede, who had the funniest reveal.) Spoonys group tended to have all the laughs- they had more fleshed out ideas and roles for each team member, and more interesting pratfalls and plot points. Dougs group kind of ambled around the same patch of wood not doing anything particularly quest like in comparison to Spoonys. It's pretty clear Doug thought so too- the editing for the other group has a lot of love thrown at it in comparison to his own group.
I don't think it's goddawful, but it feels much more like the effort wasn't as high as Kickassia. In Kickassia, everyone has a set personality, a set scenario, and it results in a really solid plot. Even the in jokes aren't that plentiful (anyone with a funnybone loves santa christ regardless of seeing him before) and a lot of the humour derives from 'a bunch of man children try to run a nation.' That's a funny concept in itself and anyone can get what they're talking about pretty easily. This is coming from a very unbiased guy- I really hated the TGWTG brawl and Suburban Knights unfortunately felt much more like the brawl. If Kickassia had an actual budget, and a cast of actors instead of internet reviewers, and no montage in the middle of people chanting for santa christ, I would pay good money to go see it. But suburban knights? No. It's fun if you're a fan, but not much fun if you're not, and that's a damn shame.

To CineMax: Long time ago before James Rofle and Channel Awesome. There was a reviewer called Mr.Black. I love watching his videos so much. He's style of reviewing is similar to Siskel & Ebert. I was disappointed about Youtube deleting his page. (Good news is he posted he's old reviews on blip tv.) I was trying to find another reviewer to watch. Fury of the Film,Movie preview critic to Spill.com. They were pretty good, but not great. But that's when I saw Doug Walker. It was so weird and new to me. He was putting jokes in his reviews. I got hooked to this day and I still watch him. I been supporting your site for a long time. This is what I get?

I don't think that's what CineMax is saying at all. He's just giving his own opinion, that he doesn't think the Channel Awesome crew is interesting and worth discussing. But, there's nothing in his post that says you need to stop watching Internet film reviewers.

I know he's not saying that, Mr.Coat Geese! I want to joy watching video reviews. I'm just getting tried of everyone's rant on other review sites. There's a lot of review shows on Youtube and Blip tv beside Channel Awesome. Anyways CineMax, If you care or not you should check out Mr.Black's reviews. http://blip.tv/mrblacksreviews

Thing is, Cinemax is as entitled to dislike TGWTG as we are to like it. He's not forcing anyone to hate TGWTG and we're not forcing him or anyone else to like it. Truth is though, would you really even be here if TGWTG had truly fulfilled your past time of watching reviews?
One of the reasons I'm here is because you get a unique quality of written and visual reviews and a well run organisation behind it all. It's a little sharper in all senses of the word, and that appeals to me in so many ways. TGWTG on the other hand? You know, when you realise how much of the recent content isn't in there because he wants to do it, but because it's what the obsessive fan base wants, then the lines blur and it suddenly becomes very messy.
