Locking threads is kind of a bullshit thing to do. Let people argue about stupid nerdy stuff and let people call bullshit, and bullshit on the bullshitters.

As a lurker (and I am a big invisible douche mostly) I've noticed that a few things are getting posted on TGWTG lately, and I wish to say that there is a fair amount of awesomeness to that. How much has it changed the stats on CCS? I sort of feel weird now, considering all the things that have been said in this thread, and then all of a sudden, CCS is a contributor. Don't misunderstand me, anything to get out there and become successful; anything to bring up the quality of the internet (yay internet!), but am I alone in feeling more than a little odd? Anyhow, I just figured this would be the best place to congratulate you guys on marketing Gamejams and the like. Good work, more viewers = more ad revenue = higher quality programming. Shit, I'm rambling now... I'll start working on that Delta Force review as soon as I'm finished with broadcasting school later this month. Sheesh, I'm so far behind I can see my tonsils.

Whilst I don't wish to speak for the others, but, as far as I know, only 5 episodes of GameJams have been so far featured on Blistered Thumbs (a subsidiary of TGWTG, not the main site, mind) and even then all of them could've been viewed on CSS a week earlier than there. As for the other video series (Dante vs. Rau, The Dirty Do Gooders and, as of recent, Mockbuster Mockery) they're still CSS-exclusive (for the most part ) and try to do something original and entertaining rather than your standard ubiquitous TGWTG-formula video reviews. So my point is - I don't really comprehend your anxiety over CSS folks "selling out" or disowning from their previous criticism and high (yet justified, mind) standards. P.S. My apologies if that's not what you mean; it's just that from the outside it looked like you were concerned that CSS is "making deals with the enemy" (that's just a manner of speech, I don't really view them that way )

It can be easy to misinterpret the meaning behind something. (That and I do come off as sarcastic no matter WHAT I do.) I was actually more concerned that the "enemy" would be mad at CCS, after all the things that had been said in the thread. I guess they're willing to let by-gones be by-gones (or they just aren't aware of it) I know that a lot of things that go up on Blistered Thumbs also get on the TGWTG front page. As I said before, sincerely I might add, anything to be successful. I'm studying Radio. It's a competitive business, and if you want to do good freelance voice-over work, you have to be cut throat and put your name wherever people will see it. I wholly endorse CCS being on Blistered Thumbs, TGWTG, and anywhere else that they can get featured, it's good for CCS, because if the audience likes CCS' material, and not necessarily the home content, then that might lead them here. Anyway, Back to hiding in the shadows again. (gnashing of teeth) http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/blistered-thumbs/357-gamejams

CCS is a contributor to TGWTG?? That's news to me. Unless I'm so far out of touch, the only thing ever featured on TGWTG was two GameJams episodes, the first being a 'Blog of the Week/Month/Whatever', which led to GameJams being picked up by Blistered Thumbs. As part GameJams making it to BT, the BT crew posted it on the TGWTG homepage, introducing the "new" series to the masses.
Other members and myself still have our criticisms of some of the bullshit that goes on with some of the TGWTG members, but they're now shared via email and PMs and IMs as passing conversational pieces. And trust me, or opinions of TGWTG hasn't gotten any better as of recent. However, we abandoned this TGWTG thread long before GameJams was ever picked up by Blistered Thumbs because it was the consensus of nearly all of us that we were essentially "beating a dead horse", and that instead of focusing on the faults of other series, we should focus our time on improving our own work.
As for myself, I have intentionally put myself out of the TGWTG world because a lot of it REALLY pissed me off way back when, and my official "throw-my-hands-in-the-air-and-scream-FUCK-IT" moment was when GameJams was asked to join Blistered Thumbs and one (unnamed) TGWTG fanboy who used to post in these forums went off on Ken in such an undignified, spoiled-brat kind of way, confirming our criticisms of, not TGWTG this time, but their fanboys.
I haven't been around the affiliate site, Blistered Thumbs (where I guess CCS is making its little contributions), but from what little I've seen it's definitely a step in a more positive direction.

Enemy? I think Ken said it best in a comment on his TGWTG Kickassia review: Quote: Kenny F. 07 Mar 2011, 07:07 Nah, I don't really hate anybody from those sites . Hate is a strong word reserved for people who deserve it. Read more: ThatGuyWithTheGlasses: Kickassia Review - CheshireCatStudios.com http://www.cheshirecatstudios.com/revie ... z1GPq1Bx2UUnless things have changed since our previous criticisms of TGWTG, our opinions still stand, but don't mistake opinions and criticisms of a once popular site as being nothing but blind hatred.
