Hi! I'm Joey Tedesco and I review cartoons! Why? Cause I love them! The freedom of expression with the use of symbols is not only engaging but an under-appreciated art! This is why I have the cartoon palooza, where I review animated films, tv shows, graphic novels, the works! Take a look at what I have, and other than getting picked up on this site; it would be great if you rate and subscribe if you like what you see!

Your series looks as though it would be right at home at http://www.thatfellowinthecoat.com

Casting my own vote, I have to vote 'no' based on our 3rd criteria:

Quote:
3) BE ORIGINAL Consider what sets your series apart from everyone else on YouTube. We are tired of the flood of every Tom, Dick, and Lucy making sub-par movie or game review videos. There are already hundreds of "angry nerds" and "critics" and "that <noun> with the <noun>s" on the web who review movies, games, and animation, but we want to be a promoter of more original ideas and video series. It won’t matter how technically superior your videos are to everybody else, you also need to have a great and original idea that makes you stand out from the crowd.

I didn't see much that really stood out among the thousands of other TGWTG and AVGN type of review videos. We also frown on review videos unless (like CineMax's "Mockbuster Mockery") they are legitimately funny or somewhat original. I'd suggest finding some kind of style or angle that sets you apart from every other TGWTG video on YouTube.

But I am just one vote out of a legion, so others might still vote 'yes'.

Mockbuster Mockery
Mockbuster Mockery Facebook  Follow Mockbuster Mockery on Twitter  Mockbuster Mockery RSS Feed
Mockbuster Mockery on YoutubeMockbuster Mockery on BlipTV

The series is dedicated to analyzing and eviscerating tasteless low-budged B-grade knock-offs of more popular and expensive Hollywood flicks - Mockbusters. CineMax is an amateur, yet aspiring movie critic, who makes comedic video reviews, writes insightful and analytical articles, and, occasionally just blabbers about stuff he deems important.

Alright, here goes for the good and bad of it all: we will start with the bad: I watched your Avatar the last airbender review

Quote:
2) DON'T FORCE HUMOR There is a thin path of greatness that runs between “boring” and “annoying”. If you go the opposite extreme of being too over-the-top and ‘animated’, it is also unacceptable. You will have better luck getting accepted if you are snarky and witty with your humor or if you do some visual comedy that isn't over the top and annoyingly gimmicky. We like to be entertained and we like all sorts of humor, but the kinds we do NOT like include annoying gimmicks, acting like a real-life Animaniac, shoving a weird joke on something that can’t be made funny, etc.
within the first 30 seconds I was really tempted on turning off the video. the switching of the camera angle just to say a stupid line within 10 seconds of one another is forcing humor and to be bluntly honest it was not funny, at all. shit like that makes me want to turn you off. there were a couple of other one liners in the review as well but nothing that even warranted a chuckle.

Based on this video, what is the difference between you and the TGWTG crew? great, you have a review show. great you are articulate, presentable, and informative. but those three alone wont make you unforgettable.

Quote:
1) BE ENTERTAINING If you conduct your video lifelessly and monotone to the point where we would rather watch the ceiling fan than your never-ending drivel, we will tell you to try again. You may think you are an untapped resource of knowledge in movies, games, or whatever, but if you play professor and the class (us) falls asleep, you hurt your chances. It's not to say that we don't like to think or learn, but PLEASE make your work interesting for OTHERS to watch.
Informative? yes, Entertaining? no. with numbers 2 and 3 not being up to par the entertainment factor of this is lacking.

What are the strong points of the video under the critera listed in the video submissions of CCS?

Quote:
4) HAVE GOOD AUDIO/VIDEO
Very good. there were only a couple of places where I could tell it was edited. the voice was even through out the video and I didnt have to back track to tell what you said
Quote:
5) YOU PROBABLY HAVE AN EDITOR. USE IT! DON'T HAVE A SCRIPT? WRITE ONE.
with number 4 as good as it was you probably did this religiously. if not, its still a fair assumption to think so.
Quote:
6) LOOK PRESENTABLE
could see you, could understand you. you were in a nice well lit area. very good.

with rules 1-3 not met I will have to agree with Laughing Man. For now, the answer is no. until you improve upon those items listed above. Good luck.

Thank you! I should spend more time practicing my delivery, as I do spend more time editing and adding effects/animations with photoshop and premiere. Otherwise, I'm game for improvements!

I'm glad that you can take criticism well and that you are willing to improve upon your product. I hope we can see what you come up with next. I will send you a PM here shortly
