Miitomo App + Nintendo NX: Nintendo Changing Course?

“Oh no… Lemme guess. Another long-winded rant against Nintendo from Cheshire Cat Studios?”

Not quite. It has been a while since we last set our sights at the Big N. So, CineMax and Katie decide to see what their old pals at House of Mario have been up to for the past couple of months.

At first, things don’t look too good. They stumble across certain statistics that proclaim that the Wii U is easily Nintendo’s worst-selling console in its history, with some reports even claiming that the company plans to cease manufacturing of any new Wii U units later this year.

However, out with the old and in with the new, as they say. While Nintendo might indeed be abandoning the Wii U for good, it appears as though they are determined to learn from their mistakes. First they decide to foray into the mobile market with their first-ever app: Miitomo — which has proven to be nothing short of success, amassing almost 4 million users worldwide. And then there’s all that juicy gossip about how Nintendo’s next console the NX will be a drastic departure from the casual gamer-friendly image of the Wii/Wii U.

Could we perhaps be seeing a major course alteration happening at the Big N?
